The body pulled from the Esopus Creek in Kingston on Sunday has been identified as the missing Saugerties resident Zach Green, according to the Times Herald-Record and the Daily Freeman. The newspapers report that the body, which was badly decomposed, was identified with dental records.

While the announcement ends the months of uncertainty and many searches by Green's family, it does little to explain how Green died. Both newspapers report that police have been unable to glean much information from Green's body, aside from the fact that there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Green disappeared on January 2, and was last seen in Uptown Kingston. His car was found the next day, along with his wallet and cell phone, according to Kingston Neighborhood Watch.

Tributes are pouring out on the Find Zachary Green Facebook page this morning. The page administrator posted this message earlier this morning:

My heart and thoughts are with Zach's family during this tragic loss. Please show them kindness and love, and respect their privacy in their time of grief. Please keep them in your prayers and share with them your memories of Zach that may bring peace and comfort to their broken hearts.
