We just received this message from the Ulster County Sheriff's Department:
Sheriff Paul J. Van Blarcum reports, with deep sadness and regret, the untimely passing of Ulster County Sheriff's Office member Detective Sergeant Drue Lynch, age 47 of Plattekill, who passed away on Sunday April 3, 2011 at 5:55 AM at St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh. Detective Sergeant Lynch was a 25 year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.
An investigation into the cause of Detective Sergeant Lynch's death is in progress. Additional information will be made available Monday afternoon.
