Stamford man killed in Harpersfield accident

20-year-old Brett Barnett of Stamford was struck by a car and killed early yesterday morning, while lying in the road on Route 10 in the town of Harpersfield. From the Press & Sun Bulletin:

Brett A. Barnett, 20, of Stamford, was lying on Route 10 in the Town of Harpersfield at approximately 4:56 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle traveling southbound on the road hit him, police said. Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Delaware County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the vehicle was Richard B. McGregor, 30, of Delanson, police said.
