8:45pm: Clarification from Terry Doyle: WIOX didn't go off the air because of floodwaters in its studio, but because of the power outage in Roxbury. In an email, Doyle writes:
WIOX stopped broadcasting when the hamlet of Roxbury lost power. Though the station's building took in water that did not figure into the decision. Water started coming into the first floor some time between 12-1pm.
8:30pm: Power is reportedly out in Roxbury. The guys at the Roxbury Motel got an incredible video of the floodwaters in Roxbury today. I've posted it above. According to Terry Doyle of WIOX radio in Roxbury, the station stopped broadcasting this afternoon after floodwaters innundated its studio. From Doyle's Facebook page:
Present and accounted for and at home and dry in Roxbury. WIOX 91.3 FM lost power around 445pm. Also the first floor of the radio station was filled up with six inches of water (kinda water)....but it was going down as of 6pm.
