Road and Street Report — Sept. 7
Fleischmanns evacuees have returned to their homes, and Wagner Avene and Depot Street have reopened.
Our Fleischmanns correspondent, Paula DeSimone, took these photos around Fleischmanns between noon and 1pm today. Things don't look too bad. The view from Wagner Ave:

DeSimone sent us this update on Monday. Didn't get to post it until now:
Rain, don’t think we need anymore, but it’s here for a short while. But we’ll manage with the volunteers
we have. And the woes of cleaning up the Village…..some helpful soul offered his vehicle for hauling
garbage to the dump. Unfortunately, he got a flat tire and his back window was broken out while
throwing debris into the back of his truck. Soooooo sorry. What do they say “No good deed goes
unpunished.”Let’s give a round of applause to Lynn Collins. An impressive and dedicated woman of Fleischmanns,
Lynn has been running the church Hospitality Center serving food and taking donated clothes, and
organizing this huge effort from day one. She has been invaluable. When you see Lynn, please
say “Thank You”. And a big “Thanks” to Winifred Zubin. Now that we are coming into the start of the work week, let’s remember that a lot of volunteers need
to go back to their “real” jobs. So we need people to step up and cover for them, please help your
neighbor.Got Milk? No, well run over to the Fleischmanns Grocery Store and take a look at the produce, meats
and dairy. Lalo is trying his best to fill in the void left by Fresh Town. And, don’t forget about our other
businesses in town, everyone is open.Share your thoughts and feelings about this week of community connectedness as we rebuild
