FEMA opens a new disaster recovery center in Sidney

FEMA recently announced the opening of a new Disaster Recovery Center in the region, and the moving of another.

Today at 12 noon, FEMA will be opening a new DRC for Delaware County at the Sidney Civic Center on 21 Liberty Street. Starting Tuesday, September 20, the Sidney DRC will be open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, until further notice.

The agency's Schoharie County DRC, which had been set up at the Holiday Inn Express in Schoharie, moved to Cobleskill today. The new location will be at the Cobleskill Fire Department, 610 East Main Street in Cobleskill. The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. (See this press release from FEMA for more information.)

The other DRCs currently open in the Catskills region -- one set up on Main Street in Prattsville, Greene County, and another at the Belleayre Ski Center in Shandaken, Ulster County -- remain open from 8am to 8pm daily, until further notice.
