The Ulster County Sheriff's Office reports that a person was killed last night in a motorcycle accident on Route 52, about a mile east of Ellenville.
The accident was reported around 10:24pm on Wednesday, August 17. No other vehicles were involved. The victim's name has not yet been released.

Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office report:
investigating a fatal motorcycle accident which occurred on State Route 52, east of the Village of Ellenville. Deputies received an Ulster County 911 report of a serious accident involving a motorcycle at approximately 10:24PM on Wednesday, August 17th. The accident occurred approximately one mile east of the Village of Ellenville and involved a single driver and no other vehicles. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ulster County Medical Examiner's Office. State Route 52 was closed in both directions for approximately six hours during the investigation. Victim's name is being withheld at this time pending notification of family members. Preliminary investigation reveals that excessive speed was a contributing factor of the accident. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the following agencies: the New York State Police in Ellenville, the Ellenville Fire Department, the Cragsmoor Fire Department, and the Ulster County Medical Examiner's Office.
