Lois Lubrano, a 41-year-old Napanoch woman, allegedly attempted to kill her 72-year-old mother with a 12-gauge shotgun last Thursday, the State Police out of Ellenville report in a press release.
The unnamed mother reportedly dodged a bullet fired by her daughter while escaping their house on 190 Continental Road around 10pm.
Police report that they found the 72-year-old a neighbor's house, where she told them that Lubrano had picked a fight with her and then had held the shotgun to her head while threatening to kill her.
As the mother was running towards the door, Lubrano allegedly fired the shotgun in an attempt to kill her, but missed.
According to the press release, when police arrived at the scene, Lubrano was barricaded in the house at 190 Continental Road. Reportedly, it took negotiators three hours to coax Lubrano out.

SP Ellenville - Attempted Murder Arrest
The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Lois Lubrano age 41 of 190 Continental Road Napanoch NY. for Attempted Murder 2nd and Criminal Possession of Weapon 4th. The arrest followed a call through Ulster County 911 reporting a woman trying to kill her mother during a domestic dispute.
On June 30th, 2011 at approximately 9:50pm, the State Police at Ellenville responded to 190 Continental Road in Napanoch NY in regards to the 911 call. The Troopers found a 72 year woman at a neighbors residence advising that her daughter Lois Lubrano, had started an argument with her which lead to the daughter holding a 12 gauge shotgun to her head. The daughter repeatedly threatened to kill her while holding the gun. The mother was eventually able to escape the residence but as she ran for the door the daughter fired the shotgun at her attempting to kill her. The mother escaped unharmed.
The Troopers at the scene found that Lubrano had barricade herself in the residence at 190 Continental Road. State Police Hostage Negotiators and SORT-Special Operations Response Team responded to the scene. Following three hours of negotiations, Lois Lubrano was taken into custody with out incident.
Lois Lubrano was arraigned before Town Justice Charles Dechon of the Town of Wawarsing Court and was remanded to Ulster County jail without bail.
