Just got this from Liz Higgins at the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program. She is looking for documentation of flood damage from area residents to submit on behalf of county emergency responders to FEMA.
Higgins says, "It's going to be really important for the county emergency management people ot have all that stuff in one place to document it for FEMA." Here's info on how to submit from her email:
Thanks for all of your coverage of the floods. Could you put a request out to your readers that if people have pictures of flood damages that they send them to me (emh56@cornell.edu). I would like to have the following information:
Location (address) of the picture(s)
Time taken (approximate is ok)
Contact informationAny descriptive info they would like to include would also be helpful.
These pictures will be very important to us in helping to know and document the level of damages. I will make sure that the pictures are forwarded to the appropriate agency (so if it is a Greene county picture or Delaware County picture I will send them to the contact people at those counties). I know that people are often confused about where to send their information and so I am willing to help coordinate some of the outreach as I have phone and internet access. I can be reached by cell phone at (845) 389-3561 (I am not sure that our office phone is working).
Thanks!
