Civil War re-enactors make camp in Walton

This Memorial Day weekend the Walton Historical Society will sponsor a real-time trip to Civil War-era camps and battlefields at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.  The Blue and the Gray will pitch their tents on Friday, May 27, march through the village of Walton on Saturday and, at 1pm on Sunday, fire rifles and cannon (though not shot and shell) as they recreate the 1862 Battle of Williamsburg.  Throughout the weekend there will be refreshments, demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors, dancing and period entertainment.  Admission, parking, games and history lessons are free.
