With the help of two antiques dealers, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office is reporting that it has arrested Joseph Hunter and Quinn Gaffney for allegedly stealing antiques on Partition Street in Saugerties and then selling them 100 yards away on Main Street.
The suspects, according to a press release, are two Saugerties teenagers who allegedly stole the goods from the Partition Street store by sneaking in through a back entrance. After chatting about the robbery with the owner of the Main Street store, the owner of the Partition Street store reportedly identified his stolen property himself.

Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office report the arrest of two Saugerties residents on burglary related charges stemming from an investigation that began in late December, 2010.
On December 30, 2010, this agency handled a report of a burglary to an antiques store on Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties. Further investigation yielded evidence leading to the arrest of JOSEPH L. HUNTER, 18, of 303 Fishcreek Road, Saugerties, and QUINN J. GAFFNEY, 16, of 151 Old Route 32, Saugerties. Both were charged with the felony of Burglary in the 3rd Degree and the misdemeanors of Petit Larceny, Conspiracy in the 5th Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree. Both are alleged to have stolen an amount of property from the antiques store on Partition Street by entering through a semi-secured rear door, then selling the property to another antiques dealer approximately 100 yards away on Main Street for approximately one hundred dollars. The owner was able to identify his property while speaking with the owner of the second antiques store about the incident.
Mr. Hunter was arraigned on 03/23/11in Saugerties Town Court and released to reappear in Saugerties Village Court at a later date. Mr. Gaffney was arraigned in Saugerties Village Court on 03/24/11 and released to reappear at a later date.
