Two killed in Davenport accident during yesterday's storm

Two people were killed in a two-car accident on Rte. 23 in Davenport yesterday during the afternoon's sudden heavy snowstorm.

The State Police have released little information about the accident, and the names of the two victims are not known. The police report states that two people died and one was injured in the collision, which happened at 4:25pm.

The Daily Star has a few more details, including the fact that the one man and one woman died:

A Jeep Cherokee was struck by another sport utility vehicle on state Route 23 at about 4:30 p.m. Late Monday night, troopers confirmed the wreck was a double fatal but released no details about the man and woman killed, pending notification of next of kin.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Old Southside Drive and state Route 23 in the town of Davenport, and one person was taken by Oneonta Fire Department crews to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.

11/10/10 update: The victims were 70-year-old Zdzislaw Kisiolek and his wife, Danuta, who was 67. The other driver, 40-year-old David V. Minutolo, survived with an injury. The Daily Star has more.
