Times Herald-Record reporter Adam Bosch shot video of former governor Eliot Spitzer talking about Wall Street regulation at SUNY New Paltz yesterday.
Former Spitzer aide Lloyd Constantine has a new book out about Spitzer's brief and rocky tenure as governor, Journal of the Plague Year. Newsweek's Sarah Kliff says Constantine comes off as bitter and self-serving, but delivers the goods.
When reviewing each chapter of the Spitzer governorship, whether it be Troopergate or attempts to secure more funds for higher education, Constantine gets stuck wading through the very specific details of strategy squabbles. While likely important at the time, the side stories make the narrative difficult to follow for a reader who was not enmeshed in New York state politics for a year.
