The town of Hancock in Delaware County has declared a state of emergency, the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin and WBNG Channel 12 report.
Hancock, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Delaware County Emergency Services report a State of Emergency in Hancock. That's due to numerous road closures, roadways washing out and culverts becoming overfilled with water.
Update: WBNG sent a reporter to Hancock today and filed a report tonight about mudslides and potential evacuations. Watch it below:
According to a hydrograph from the National Weather Service tonight, however, things are looking up. It looks like the East Branch of the Delaware crested hours ago and is now back below flood stage a few miles upstream of Hancock at Fishs Eddy:
