Flooding: The morning after

After the soggy events of yesterday, people across the Catskills are waking up and assessing the damage. Here's the latest:

Roads

Rte. 28 in Mt. Tremper has been open since about 6:30pm last night, according to commenters on our Facebook page.

511.org is not listing any of yesterday's closed roads -- including Rte. 212, Rte. 214, Rte. 145, or Rte. 209 -- as closed today. The site does say that westbound Rte. 17 in Wallkill is down to one lane until 2pm this afternoon.

Schools

The Onteora and Pine Plains school districts are opening two hours late this morning, the Daily Freeman reports.

The Daily Freeman and the Daily Mail have stories about yesterday's damage. According to the Daily Mail, the rains caused an embankment collapse in Windham yesterday.
