Robert Wilkinson, who told a judge in July that he shot his friend Lucian Haid with an AR-15 last year, has received his sentence, according to the Daily Freeman:
A former Pine Plains man was sentenced this morning to 20 years to life in state prison for the shooting death of a Catskill man. Robert Wilkinson, 24, had pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder in the death of Lucian Haid, 28, on June 17, 2009, following an argument at Haid’s residence at 59 Pennsylvania Ave.
Wilkinson's July confession was chronicled by the Daily Mail in July:
During Tuesday’s court proceeding, Lalor asked Wilkinson what transpired that fateful evening around 1:40 a.m: “I had an AR-15 rifle in my hands,” Wilkinson said. “I aimed it at Lucian Haid and fired it with the intent to kill him.”
