If you see a tall thin man with a bandana and a bundle of cash in Ulster County, you might want to call the cops:
Undersheriff Frank Faluotico said the robbery took place at the Bank of America on Mill Hill Road at about 9:20 a.m.
The robber — described as about 6-foot tall, with a thin build — walked into the bank and approached a teller, the undersheriff said. The man, who wore dark glasses and a bandana over his face, displayed a handgun and demanded money, Faluotico said.
The Freeman says they've recovered the getaway car, but not the bandit.
Update: The Times Herald-Record says they're combing the area with a SWAT team and a helicopter, and a K9 unit nearly got the guy.
Police have been going door-to-door in some part of the village searching for the suspected bank robber. A police K9 traced the suspect to at least one residence, though the owner there said he had no idea the suspect was around his house.
