The Daily Star reports today that Joseph Ermeti, municipal attorney for the Delaware County town of Sidney, was arrested over a month ago on third-degree assault charges.
The Daily Star's report has few details on the arrest, but notes that Ermeti is still actively representing the town:
[Special District Attorney Michael] Breen said Tuesday he was waiting to hear about the next court date, but refused to comment further about the circumstances of the arrest. Ermeti refused to comment about the case when reached Wednesday. Sidney Town Supervisor Robert McCarthy said Ermeti is not only the town's attorney, who he regularly consults, but his friend.
