Legislative Roundtable to be held at Hunter Mountain

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, along with the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association and Catskill Association for Tourism Services (CATS) invites local tourism business to attend the 2014 Legislative Roundtable, March 20th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Copper Tree at Hunter Mountain.

“This is an excellent chance for our tourism business community to communicate issues and concerns with our state officials that impact the tourism industry as well as meet and network with fellow business owners from the region”, stated Mary Beth Silano, Executive Director for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.

“Tourism in the Catskills is indeed big business, stated Jim Thomson, Tourism Director for the Delaware County Chamber and Vice President of CATS.  In 2012, total visitor spending for the Catskill Region exceeded $1.07 billion.  At that size we are now just behind the Adirondack Region in total visitor spending and this roundtable is an excellent opportunity to keep informed on the issues that will help push us further up the ladder,” stated Thomson. Some topics of discussion include the economic impact of casino gambling on all counties in the Catskill Regions, as well as CATS 2014 marketing plan.
