HealthAlliance Foundation Announces Honorees for the 25th Annual Tulip Ball

Press release: The HealthAlliance Foundation is pleased to announce the honorees for the 25th Annual Tulip Ball, which will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Lazy Swan Golf and Country Club Village in Saugerties, N.Y.

“On our 25th Anniversary of the Tulip Ball, we are so pleased to recognize prominent leaders and true philanthropists in our community,” said Jodi Longto, chairwoman of the Tulip Ball committee. “Each year our committee hand picks outstanding citizens, and this year we couldn’t be more excited about the honorees.”

The 2014 HealthAlliance honorees, Dr. Ali Hammoud and Dr. Joseph Christiana, are well known cardiologists who have practiced in the area for over 10 years. Both doctors are currently on the active staff of Internal Medicine at HealthAlliance hospitals and maintain privileges in the Cardiology Department. Dr. Hammoud currently serves as medical director of Cardiology Services at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley and previously served as a member of the HealthAlliance Board of Directors. Dr. Christiana has held multiple leadership positions within HealthAlliance, including chairman of the Department of Medicine for Broadway and Mary’s Avenue campuses as well as chairman of the Medical Staff Quality Council.

The 9th annual Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Kathleen and Ozzie Beichert. The Beichert family, life-long residents of the Kingston area, have owned and operated Timely Signs of Kingston since 1972. Both Kathleen & Ozzie have served on numerous not-for-profits and community service organizations over the years and were honored at the Ulster County Community College annual gala in 2010.

Ellen O’Leary and Thomas Murphy will be presented with the 4th Annual Community Service Award. Both have devoted countless hours to volunteering and serving on not-for-profit boards, including the Mohonk Preserve and the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley, for several years.
