DCHA to Host October Cemetery Driving Tour

The Delaware County Historical Association (DCHA) and guide Marianne Greenfield will host a driving tour of important village cemeteries around Delaware County on Saturday October 5, 2013. Ms. Greenfield is a well-known expert on local cemeteries, gravestones and monuments and she will focus on interesting memorials in each cemetery and/or noteworthy people buried there.

Meet at 10:00am at DCHA in Delhi for a brief orientation and then a tour of the small Frisbee family cemetery. At 10:45am we will head off to Woodland Cemetery in Delhi and from there via Route 28 and the Catskill Turnpike to the Ouleout Cemetery in the Village of Franklin. Tour participants may pause in Franklin for lunch – either picnic-style or at Dawn’s Deli or Hometown Pizza.

From Franklin we will proceed to the cemetery in the Village of Walton. We anticipate that the tour will end between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. A tour map will be provided for each car.

Cost: $15 per car. Limit of 25 cars. Reservations required by Wednesday, October 3. Rain date: Monday, October 14.

To register for the tour, please call DCHA at (607) 746-3849, or email: dcha@delhi.net
