Fresh Pork and reserved Brook Trout!

Hi,
Wow! What a weekend coming up!  We have the first FRESH PORK of the season (yes, we were out there starting in March taking care of them, hauling water and feed to make this happen...).  Let me know IMMEDIATELY if you want any special cuts, or if you are considering buying a half of pig.  These are heritage breed, Animal Welfare Approved pigs, going to Cobleskill College, an Animal Welfare Approved facility, for processing.  The meat will be phenomenal!

And, wait, there's more!  Fresh BROOK TROUT! These fish are raised at the Cobleskill College Aquaculture Program, a small teaching facility.  They are raised without antibiotics, started in tanks and moved to earthen ponds. Clean, sweet fish!  They will be whole, cleaned and gutted, averaging 1 to 1-1/4 pounds.  $9/lb. Please e-mail or call me to reserve fish.  Ideally I'd like your orders by Wednesday evening.  The fish are being processed Thursday afternoon, and they will be available to pick up Saturday and Sunday. For your info, they will freeze beautifully.

Saugerties Farmer Market folks: If you want fish, please reserve by Wednesday evening, too!  We will bring them, on ice, to the market on Saturday. Bring them right home, or bring an insulated bag to transport them. (We usually have bags for sale if you forget.) Also, let us know if you want any special fresh pork cuts brought to the market.  We love requests!

The weather had been a pain ... too wet. The solar electric charger for our main fence got hit by lightening last week, causing problems keeping the animals where they are supposed to be!  It's finally replaced after several chaotic days. but we're still re-training the critters to stay within their areas.  Always something.

When the sweet Gloucester Old Spot/Tamworth cross pigs met the very wild Ossabaw Island piglets.  Heritage breeds galore!
