Goth, Dark Fantasy/ Sci-Fi, and Steam Punk Reading Group Looking for Participants

 

Chelsea Goodwin, the sci-fi author and manager of Pine Hill Books, has announced the establishment of book club focusing on Goth, Dark Fantasy/ Sci-Fi, Steam Punk works.  The club will meet at the Pine Hill Book Store, at 300 Main Street, Pine Hill, next to the post-office.  (any of the three exits to Pine Hill from Route 28 will take you directly to Main Street).  The book club will read selected books which are agreed upon by the club members.  The club will meet initially at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month.  Discussions will be led by Goodwin and Pine Hill resident Dr. Allison O’Brien.

The first book being read by the club is Dhampir by Barb and J.C. Hendee.  This book is described by Goodwin as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Middle Earth.” Other authors which may be of interest to club members include Edgar Allen Poe, Matthew Pearl, Sax Rohmer and work being written by members of the club or invited guests.

Goodwin said about the book club that “it has the Transylvanian seal of approval.”

Complimentary refreshments will be provided at the club meetings.
