Tune in to hear the artistic directors and select

performers of the Ulster Ballet Company, along with WKNY  (1490 AM) radio host, Mayor Shayne Gallo, promote the upcoming performance of “A Christmas Carol,” on  Saturday,

November 28th, 2015 between 9 and 11 a.m. on his show “Speak Out.”  And on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015, join the Ulster Ballet on the A.M. Then on Friday, December 4th  through Sunday, December 6th, 2015, the Ulster Ballet Company (UBC) will present a unique rendition of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol,” at the Ulster Performing Arts Center (UPAC) in Kingston, NY.  Exquisitely choreographed and directed by Sara Miot, formerly of the New York City Ballet, Ulster Ballet Company is proud to announce its 21st season of this spectacular production, which has become a holiday tradition among Hudson Valley audiences. Featuring a cast of more than 60 dancers, actors and stage professionals from the Hudson Valley, the company presents this heartwarming and emotional tale of redemption through the use of narration and dance. With spectacular lighting and special effects, colorful costumes, and stunning set design, this classic production captures the rapt attention of audiences of all ages. “A Christmas Carolboasts breathtaking backdrops designed and painted by Leslie Bender, a highly acclaimed local artist who has worked extensively with Ulster Ballet Company.

 

Performances and Ticket Information:  The dates for the upcoming production of “A Christmas Carol” are  Friday, December 4th, 2015   at 7:30 p.m.;  Saturday, December 5th  at 4:00 p.m. (Note this new earlier time will make it more convenient for families to enjoy the show, and then have dinner at one of Kingston’s fine restaurants); and Sunday, December 6th  at 2 p.m. at UPAC, 601 Broadway, Kingston, New York.  Tickets are $22 for adults; and $18 for senior citizens, and UPAC/Bardavon members.  For groups of ten or more, and children 12 and under, tickets are $15.  To purchase tickets, call the UPAC box office at 845-339-6088; visit Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com, or call 800-745-3000. 

 

In an effort to reach out to the community, the Ulster Ballet Company is offering a discounted ticket price of $15 to employees of HealthQuest;  Health Alliance; Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center; Marist, Bard and Vassar Colleges; City of Kingston and County of Ulster employees,  and members of the YMCA.  Present your employee/student  ID, or membership card to the UPAC box office when purchasing tickets.
