Local Student Selected to Participate in FRS Youth Tour

Delhi Telephone Company is excited to annouce the selection of a student from Delaware Academy to represent our community at The Foundation for Rural Services (FRS) Youth Tour in Washington DC. DTC is a proud member of NTCA- The Rural Broadband Association, a trade association that represents locally owned telephone companies throughout rural America. Many NTCA member companies, like DTC, will be sending students from their communities as well. Approximately 100 students from all over the nation will participate in the all-expense paid trip to DC.This year's Youth Tour will be May 30th thru June 3rd. DTC believes that the strength in our community lies in the education of our youth.

Students from Delaware Academy participated in a personal interview contest where they discussed "The positive and negative impacts technology has on society".  DTC is proud to announce that we have chosen Hannah Morley to represent us in this year's Youth Tour.Hannah is the daughter of Rich and Gayle Morley and is a sophomore at Delaware Academy. Hannah plays Varsity Soccer, Varsity Basketball and is a Varsity Track athlete. She is president of the DA Varsity & Art club and a member of both AVP (Alternative to Violence Program) and OLWEYUS (a bullying prevention program). Outside of school Hannah plays AAU basketball and is an active member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Delhi. Her hobbies include reading, baking and hanging out with friends.

While visiting DC, Hannah will be meeting other high school students from across rural America, have the opportunity to visit famous historical sites and museums, learn more about the telecommunications industry, and have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the legislative and governmental processes.  Congratulations to Hannah Morley!
