During the month of July, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, along with the Small Business Development Center and Mang Insurance Agency, will be traveling to different areas of Delaware County in regards to the Healthcare Reform Act. The major components of these seminars are Individual Mandates, Health Care Exchanges, Impacts to Employers and Tax Incentives.
“There will be ongoing changes throughout the next year in regards to the Health Care Reform” stated Mary Beth Silano, Executive Director of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Our members and business community have always been our first priority and holding seminars such as these will assist to keep them updated on critical changes in regards to healthcare that will affect their business,” Silano continues.
The New York State Small Business Development Center delivers high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business. “The Small Business Development Center is pleased to collaborate with Mang Insurance Agency in offering these valuable and timely seminars on Health Care Reform,” stated Michelle Catan, Certified Business Advisor with the Binghamton SBDC. SBDC will continue to offer free seminars to the Delaware County business community as updates and new information on the Healthcare Reform is finalized, Catan continued.
Mang Insurance Agency has been the administrator of the Chamber’s Health Insurance Program since 1996. “Mang Insurance is working hard to bring the latest information on Health Care Reform. We hope these seminars will help the chamber members and the Delaware County business community understand how these reforms will affect their businesses,” stated Bill Mirabito, President of Mang’s Benefits Division. Maurice Isaac, the Chamber’s Health Insurance Specialist will be presenting specific topics on behalf of the Mang Insurance Agency.
Seminars will be held at the following locations: July 9th, 4 pm to 5:30pm, Hobart Community Hall; July 11th, 8 am to 10 am, Hancock House Hotel; July 23rd, 9 am to 11 am, Sidney Public Library Community Room; July 25th, 8:30am to 10:30 am, Middletown Town Hall.
