We want your farm and farm food photos!

To celebrate the harvest season and local Catskills farms and foods, the Watershed Post's 2014 Catskills Food Guide and AgriForaging, Inc. are holding a Catskills Farm Photo Contest between now and midnight on October 22, 2013.

The contest, which is sponsored by Spillian: A Place to Revel, is open to photos of any farm, farm scene, farm food, or farmer located in or sourced from Delaware, Greene, Schoharie, Sullivan, or Ulster county.

Winners will be featured in the 2014 Catskills Food Guide, and one grand prize farm or farmer winner will be featured in a specially-crafted menu by AgriForaging at one of Spillian's Soup Sundays. The winning photographer also receives a free Soup Sundays dinner for two.

Here's how the contest works:

Share photos of your favorite Catskills farm, farmstand, farmers' market, farmer, or farm scene.

All entries must:

  • identify the farm or farmer depicted and include their contact info (name, address, phone number, or website)
  • include an email address and/or phone number where the photographer can be reached
  • be high-resolution, print quality images (at least 3 Megapixels in size -- set your camera to the highest resolution)

You can submit entries by posting a photo on the Catskills Food Guide Facebook pageby emailing your photo to Julia Reischel at julia.reischel@watershedpost.com, by posting your entry to the 2014 Catskills Food Guide Flickr Group, or by tagging an Instagram photo with #contest and #catskillsfood

Submit your photo before midnight on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Only one entry is allowed per person.

The fine print:

No purchase is necessary to enter or win this contest. Contest begins on Friday, October 11, 2013, and ends at midnight on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Entry must be the original work of the contestant, must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person and must not violate any law. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason. All entries will be judged based on judges’ determination of creativity, photo quality, subject matter, and beauty. The top scoring entry will be declared the contest winner. The prize — a farm being featured in a menu created by AgriForaging for Spillian's Soup Sunday and a dinner for two at Soup Sundays — is worth between $80 and $100. The winners will be announced with the publication of the Catskills Food Guide on November 11, 2013. The winner will be notified by email by November 12,  2013.
