Schoharie woman falls off snowmobile into traffic

The Schoharie County Sheriff's Office is reporting that 26-year-old Tara Valhos fell off a snowmobile in the village of Richmondville and into the path of an oncoming car yesterday.

According to a press release, Valhos was airlifted to Bassett Medical Center.

The press release states that Valhos was riding on the back of a snowmobile driven by 26-year-old Andrew Reightmyer on the side of Summit St. around 12:45pm on Tuesday when she fell. She was reportedly hit by a Chrysler driven by 78-year-old Donald Bozarth of Worcester. Neither Bozarth nor Reightmyer were injured, but Reightmyer was issued a ticket for driving a snowmobile on a highway.
