Flash floods and legislative fireworks expected today

It's one of those days where you don't know what the big story is going to be.

There's a flash flood warning on for Ulster, Greene and Schoharie counties today, according to NY-Alert, so maybe the big news will be flooding:

...Flash Flood Watch Remains In Effect Through This Afternoon... The Flash Flood Watch Continues For * East Central New York And Adjacent Western New England. * Through This Afternoon * Another Round Of Showers And Thunderstorms Will Occur Across The Area Today...Especially This Afternoon. Conditions Will Remain Favorable For Storms To Produce Very Heavy Downpours...With Rainfall Rates Of 1 To 2 Inches Per Hour Possible. In Addition...There Remains The Possibility That Thunderstorms Will Affect Some Areas Repeatedly...Or Train...Enhancing Rainfall Amounts And The Threat For Flash Flooding. * Anyone Living In Or Near Low Lying...Poor Drainage Areas...And Near Small Streams Or Creeks Should Remain Alert To The Potential For Flash Flooding...And Pay Close Attention To Any Flash Flood Warnings That Are Issued. Campers...Hikers And Anyone Planning Outdoor Recreational Activities Should Also Be Alert To The Potential Of Flash Flooding...As Well As The Threat Of Lightning.

Or maybe the big story will be a vote on gay marriage in Albany. A bill legalizing gay marriage in New York could pass today, and there will be legislative action on other big-ticket end-of-legislative term items like rent control and a property tax cap

Who knows? Get your popcorn ready and we'll all find out together.
