On Saturday April 23, 2016 the Delaware County Historical Association will offer a one-day appliqué basics workshop. From 10:00am to 4:00pm this class in needle-turn hand appliqué will lead the student through the steps necessary to successfully complete a 14” Indiana Rose block. Stitching techniques covered will be marking the background fabric for placement of motifs, creating smooth inside and outside curves, obtaining sharp inside and outside points plus how to achieve totally round circles. With hands-on guidance and clear direction, the mystery of fine needle-turn hand appliqué will be conquered.
Adults and children alike (over 12) are encouraged to attend the workshop. The workshop will be taught by experienced quilter Lesley Gray of the Delaware County Town and Country Quilters. Lesley was inducted into the Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame in 2007.
