Wednesday Night’s Show: New Woodstove Rules

CFA-On-The-Air: From the Forest
Wednesdays 6PM – 7PM
WIOX ROXBURY 91.3FM or www.wioxradio.org

On Wednesday night’s show we’ll discuss the Environmental Protection Agency’s new rules pertaining to woodstoves & other heating appliances. In May, the EPA’s New Source Performance Standards will be applied to new woodstoves being sold. We’ll discuss what this means & how it might affect you (information provided by The Alliance for Green Heat). Tune in at 91.3 FM or stream online @ www.wioxradio.org.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Pulled my maple taps out last Wednesday; all done. It was a good season. Finished @ 15.5 gallons of syrup per 34 taps. My first boil was on March 9th, and the last on March 31st. It was a fast & furious season. Once the sap turned on, it poured. Recently, there was a study by Tufts University claiming that high sugar contents may correlate with bumper seed years. Well, this sugaring season saw some very high sugar contents. We’ll see if the maple trees flower out abundantly and produce a lot of seed.

May the forest be with you,
