Wednesday Night’s Show: Hanford Mills Museum

CFA-On-The-Air: From the Forest
Wednesdays 6PM – 7PM
WIOX ROXBURY 91.3FM or www.wioxradio.org

FROM THE FOREST will be interviewing 2 staff members – Brendan & Dawn – from HANFORD MILLS MUSEUM. If you haven’t already been there, you should really make the trip to East Meredith, Delaware County & see how a watered powered sawmill from the 19th century works; it’s extremely educational & entertaining, and serves as testimony to rural NY’s innovative & entrepreneurial past. Tune in at 91.3 FM or stream online @ www.wioxradio.org to learn more.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Fall foliage seems to be late this year; October 1st is tomorrow & usually we’re at peak this time near Arkville. We’ll see how things shape up after all this drought followed by rain. Speaking of October 1st. The archery season begins tomorrow for hunting bear & deer. Both have plenty of access this year to food since apples are so abundant. I have seen plenty of red oak acorns and chestnut oak acorns too in central Ulster County. In addition, wild grapes have had a good year as well. My daughter Metta Mae has learned where they are and whispers, “grape” as we approach the lucky spot with our car or stroller. Good luck!

May the forest be with you,
Ryan Trapani
