Wednesday Night’s Show: The Growing Deer Debate

CFA-On-The-Air: From the Forest
Wednesdays 6PM – 7PM
WIOX ROXBURY 91.3FM or www.wioxradio.org

From the Forest will be discussing its upcoming event – The Growing Deer Debate – being held this Saturday from 9AM to 4PM @ Margaretville Central School. Why a “deer debate?” Deer & humans represent some of the most strongest influences upon the eastern forest. When the two are not in sync, imbalances can occur causing rippling effects and impacts seen both inside and outside forested areas. Forest mismanagement coupled with excessive deer browse can stunt forest regeneration and composition for many decades, not including impacts seen behind our houses or in the road. Tune in at 91.3 FM or stream online @ www.wioxradio.org to learn more.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Coyotes!! Been hearing them just about every night (for the last 3 years). I was out bow-hunting last weekend & one ran right below me; beautiful brown, gray, & white. Once he hit my scent, he hit the brakes & did a complete 180. Besides that, the bucks are beginning to get a little frisky. In other words, they’re beginning to chase does.

May the forest be with you,
