Job Opening
The Bees Knees Café is growing, and is currently seeking a motivated and diligent sous chef on a part time basis for a unique employment opportunity. Flexibility- especially on weekends, attention to detail, and experience in food service is essential. Ideal candidates are eager to expand their horizons through the lens of local seasonal food. This is not a standard food service job in the sense that you will be working with foraged and locally grown raw ingredients, and need to understand the benefits and pitfalls of working with these. Applicants should submit a resume with cover letter via email to heatherridgefarm@aol.com.
In the Neighborhood: Longhouse Food Media Scholars Program
Directed by Molly O'Neill, this residential immersion is jam-packed with name-brand working professionals – Francesco Sapienza, Penny delos Santos and Victor Schraeger are mentoring photography, Michael Yonchenko and Cosima Amelang are teaching Videography and Von Diaz of Story Corps and Cathy Gunst of NPR on oral history and radio – as well as great writers teaching long form, memoir, food features and blogging. Betsy Andrews, Sara Kate Gillingham Ryan, Darra Goldstein, Molly O’Neill and several surprise guests are slated for teaching. Applications close June 15 & there are few seats left in the second, two-week session which runs from July 26-August 9 in Rensselaerville, NY.
