DCHA Offering Trip to Seward House and Skaneateles Lake Cruise

The Delaware County Historical Association is offering a one-day bus trip on Thursday, June 11, first to the historic Seward House Museum in Auburn, NY and then to Skaneateles. In Auburn guests can enjoy a guided tour of the home of William Seward and afterward stroll through the site’s lovely gardens. William Henry Seward was one of the foremost politicians of the nineteenth century, serving as New York Governor, US Senator and US Secretary of State under Lincoln and Johnson. (For more information, please visit the museum’s website at www.sewardhouse.org.)

Following the museum visit, we will travel the short distance to the charming village of Skaneateles for lunch at the historic Sherwood Inn overlooking beautiful Skaneateles Lake.  Afterwards, we will board a boat for a sightseeing cruise on one of the Finger Lakes’ most serene and picturesque bodies of water. Board the flagship of the Mid Lakes Navigation Company, the Judge Ben Wiles, for an informative fifty-minute narrated cruise of the lake.
