Buzz Sessions Coming Soon to the Learning Hive in Stamford

Neighbors teaching neighbors, for everyday life; The Learning Hive is a Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Inc. (WCCRC) initiative that will provide a sustainable connected learning experience to the region.

June 2015 brings the debut of this learning series that will focus on homeowner, tenant and landlord education, upcycling, home DIY projects, and much more.

Upcycling is the process of converting old or discarded materials into something useful and often beautiful, giving an item a refreshed purpose. Upcycling makes a positive impact on the environment because when you upcycle, you remove items from the waste stream. All it requires is your own ingenuity and a little elbow grease.

We currently have a variety of workshops in the final stages of planning, from a first time home buyers course to glass painting, reupholstering a chair, and nearly everything in between. Would you be interested in learning something new and have a fantastic idea for a future workshop? Would you be interested in instructing a workshop of your own?

Let us know by sending an e-mail to info@westerncatskills.org. You’ll also be added to our general WCCRC mailing list for the latest on sign-ups, future workshops, current programs, events & more.

Buzz Sessions will be held at the Western Catskills Community Arts center, located up the hill at 76 Main Street in the Village of Stamford beginning in June.
