BLTs at Last! Whole Lamb Orders, and Farm Tour Sunday

Hi,
We wait all year for the tomatoes to get full of flavor to offer our BLTs in the cafe. This is it!  Our no nitrate Animal Welfare Approved heritage breed bacon (that's a mouthful!), juicy organic tomatoes from Stoneledge Farm, on our amazing Mountain Bread with a smear of farm made mayo.  The ultimate taste of summer. Cafe and farm store open 11am-3pm both Saturday and Sunday. Guided Farm Tour Sunday at 11am.

Ordering Sides of Meat: Coming Up: Lamb
We are entering harvest time. We will have fresh meats and poultry almost every weekend ... note the schedule below. Next week we will have fresh lamb, and this is also an opportunity for you to purchase a whole lamb cut to your specifications.  I have attached our lamb cutting instruction sheet. When you buy a whole animal, the cost is about 15-20% less than buying the individual cuts. Lamb is $7/lb hanging weight plus the cost of processing which is usually $90-100. Our lamb is all grass fed, Animal Welfare Approved.  Lamb will be available by the weekend of Sept 5, again Sept 26, Oct.24 and Dec. 12.  Please contact me with any questions.

Next week, I will explain ordering sides of beef.

Greenville DriveIn
Saturday, Sept 5, Shaun the Sheep will be playing in a double header with Grease.  A little birdie told me there will be sheep there to meet and greet before the movie.

The Potter Hollow School Day and Yard Sale will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 to 3.  The yard sales will be in the village of Potter Hollow and surrounding areas: Smith Rd, Knowles Rd., Scott Patent Rd., Potter Mountain Rd.  There will be no map but shoppers should look for signs around the community and at the intersection of 145 and 81.

The one room Potter Hollow School on Potter Mtn. Road which is being restored will be open for visitors.  Ed Volmer, on behalf of the Greenville Educational Foundation, will be documenting materials related to the schoolhouse history.  People are encouraged to bring pictures, artifacts or other sentimental treasures which can be shared with the community.  Volunteers will be available at the schoolhouse to take photographs of the objects and scan the pictures.
