Tip for would-be burglars: Don't leave your math homework at the scene

The Times Herald-Record reports today that a stray piece of math homework left near a burgled house in Liberty led police to the 12-year-old alleged burglar:

The owner said he arrived Sunday morning and found a window removed and jewelry, cellphones, video games and more missing.

Homework with the suspect's name on it was found in the woods behind the auction house, police said.

The youth now presumably faces the wrath of a math teacher as well as Sullivan County Family Court. We're guessing "I lost my homework breaking into a house" doesn't hold much water as an excuse.
