Moral of the story: When fighting a sex-offense rap, don't stockpile weapons

Catskill ex-cop Nathan Van Fleet's scheduled May 10 trial, on charges of sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old girl, has been postponed, the Daily Mail reports. The reason? Van Fleet couldn't get to the hearing because he's in jail on unrelated weapons charges.

He is currently behind bars in the Schoharie County Jail, according to his attorney Andrew S. Jacobs of East Greenbush, due to a litany of illegal weapons charges.

Van Fleet was charged on April 7 after police found a cache of rifles, shotguns, handguns, a loaded .44 Magnum revolver, and flashbang, rubber impact and CS “tear gas” grenades. He faces 15 felony charges as a result of possessing those weapons.
